
Dijana Metlić
Dijana Metlić, PhD, is a Full Professor of Art History at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad. She received her PhD in 2012 at the Department of Art History, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. Based on her thesis, she published the book Stanley Kubrick: Between Painting and Film (Film Center Serbia, 2013). In 2022, the book’s second and expanded edition was published.
Dr Metlić also explores Serbian and European interwar art. Her research has been published in numerous national and international journals and anthologies. In addition to the Film Center Serbia, she also publishes with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Gallery Matica Srpska. She authored exhibitions at the Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris, the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad;Sava Šumanović in Sid; Gallery in Šid. She is a member of the ICOM National Committee in Serbia. Dr Metlić participated in numerous international and national scientific conferences. Her contributions to the study of Stanley Kubrick’s oeuvre and its positioning in the wider context of 20 th-century art history have been published in international anthologies by prestigious publishers such as Bloomsbury, Routledge and Springer. Her specific fields of interest include modern art, historical avant-gardes and interrelations between painting, photography and film.
