
Nataša Crnjanski
Natasa Crnjanski, PhD, Music Theorist, Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She finished her postgraduate (2008) and doctoral studies (2014) in Music Theory with Music Semiotics as her main field of research. She participated in numerous international conferences (Portugal, Croatia, Cyprus, USA), as well as in musical projects, study trips and seminars. She was visiting professor at the Complutense University in Madrid and the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo in Spain. Beside articles, which have been published in edited books and journals, she is an author of three books: Music Semiotics through D-S-C-H (2010), Prokofiev and Musical Gesture (2014) and The Glossary of Music Semiotics (2019) which are among the first scientific publications in the field of musical semiotics in Serbia.
She participated in several scientific and artistic projects of the Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development, as well as in the international project of the Erasmus + K2 program. Since 2016 she has served as Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Zbornik radova Akademije umetnosti. She is a member of the International Musicological Society (IMS), International Association for Semiotic Studies (IASS) and Serbian Society for Music Theory (SDMT). She is an Associate Professor at the Department for Composition and Theoretical Subjects. Her scientific work is focused on questions of musical sign and meaning, as well as research on the connection between music, language and the physical domain.
